It has been a hectic time here in Michel Delving. The yuletide gifting season is in full swing and merchants are again yelling for more coinage to use as change. (I don't know what keeps happening to it all... disappearing into mason jars in cellars all over the Shire I suppose).

There is an auction on the German Ebay site right now that is for a counterfeit Shire coin, a 1402 penny... made (I think) by taking a mold from a real one and casting silver into it. They are crude looking... and rather expensive at about 50 Euros each! The seller says they are .925 sterling silver and weigh 7 grams.
